WBEC- East Awards Committee Announcement

Greetings,

I pray this message finds you and your families safe and healthy during the COVID-19 Pandemic. As we join forces to combat this disease together, we want you to know that WBENC (national) and WBEC-east support women-owned businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic.

What better way to do so by continuing our mission to support, leverage relationships, provide access to opportunities, network through signature events and participating on committees. Committees are essential to our business and what better way to stay connected and remain positive during this time by recognizing and awarding our WBE’s and Council Members .

The WBEC-East awards committee is highly committed to recognizing, celebrating, and awarding the success of women-owned businesses and council members. The committee helps to create and revise the nomination and evaluation process for all awards and makes recommendations to insure that a broad range of constituents are recognized. The categories of opportunity include: Advocate of the Year, Bravery Award, Done Deals, New Leaders Award, Partner of the Year, Trusted Advisor Award, Volunteer of the Year, and WBE Leadership. Each award opportunity is designed to capture the winning success of contribution toward a deserving women-owned business and/or council member affiliated with WBEC-East.

The core mission of the WBEC-East Council committees is to advance the organization through certifications, opportunities, resources, and engagement in concert with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The Awards and Recognition Committee highly encourages the engagement of WBE’s and Council Members by honoring individuals and/or organizations that have paved the way and reduce barriers for women owned businesses. The Awards & Recognition Committee generally meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 PM. Members are able to participate in person at the WBEC office in downtown Philadelphia or by a conference call.
