WBEC-East & Capital One Pitch Competition

Interested in pitching your business idea or what is next for your current business?

In partnership with Capital One, WBEC-East is excited to host our fourth Women’s Business Center Pitch Competition! Keep reading for more details and instructions for submitting your pitch video.

  • • Round 1: 90-Second Video Submissions – opens August 3rd and closes August 31st.  
  • • Round 2: Live, 2-minute, in-person pitch at Capital One Café in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia. Date and time are TBD. Compete alongside 7 other finalists chosen from Round 1.  

Women business owners and entrepreneurs at any stage of business are welcome to submit a pitch video for the Capital One Pitch Competition.

  • • Participants must be located in Pennsylvania, Delaware or Southern New Jersey (Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem counties). The pitch competition is open to WBEC-East WBC clients and/or WBEs in our region.
  • • Participants must be able to attend Round 2 of the Pitch in person at Capital One Café at a date and time TBD.
  • • Please do not submit a pitch video over 90 seconds in length. 
  • • Only one person may be featured in the business pitch.
  • • Slides are not permitted to be used in pitch videos, however, virtual backgrounds are acceptable.

  • • First Place: $10,000 
  • • Second Place: $7,500 
  • • Third Place: $2,500 
  • • 4th-8th Place: $1,000 each
  • Round 1:

    • • 90-Second Video Pitch Submissions OPEN on August 3rd and CLOSE on August 31st.
    • • Eight finalists will be announced in September.

    Pitch Coaching Sessions:

    • • Finalists will have the opportunity to be advised by our business coach, Melanie McLeod, in-person at our Center City headquarters before Round 2.
    • • Dates for coaching are TBD. Once determined, a poll will be sent out to gather which date works for each contestant. These sessions will help prepare finalists for round two of the pitch competition.

    Round 2:

    • • Contestants will be able to pitch their businesses before a panel of judges representing both the Capital One and WBEC-East communities at the Capital One Café in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia.
    • • A select number of guests will be allowed for each contestant based on occupancy requirements. 
    • • Props are limited to small items that are easily carried on and off the stage. Video, slides, and other digital presentations are not permitted.

    Note: You can put your video as an “Unlisted” video on YouTube, Zoom, or Vimeo and share the link. Please only submit your Jotform submission once that video link is ready and included.
