Desserts & More may be over, but the celebration never ends!
We continue to celebrate and advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs today and every day. If you were able to attend Desserts & More on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, thank you! We are happy you were able to join us to celebrate 29 years of sweet success in assisting women entrepreneurs.
As always, we’d like to thank our sponsors, scholarship donors, speakers, raffle basket and dessert buffet donors, all of the event staff, our Awards committee and Desserts & More committee, along with all of the WBEs who offered their services and helped make this event possible.
We hope it showed how busy we’ve been since the last Desserts & More! Through certification, counseling, and over 100 individual workshops and events, we’ve created a significant economic impact over just one year. Through our SBA grant, we counseled and trained 831 unique entrepreneur clients who supported over 1,100 jobs and generated over $500 million in revenue. Collectively, our 1,800 WBENC certified WBEs have supported over 28,500 jobs in Pennsylvania, Delaware and South Jersey, and generated approximately $9.4 billion in revenue. We’ve impacted the lives of countless women and the regional economy, but just like our Desserts & More…there is MORE.
Each year, WBEC-East serves over 2,000 women from all socioeconomic backgrounds and in all stages of business development. Through collaborations such as the Harmelin Media Women-Owned Business Scholarship and the CPI Creative Grant, we can offer both start-up and growth support to women working towards business ownership. No matter where you are in your entrepreneurship journey, WBEC-East is here for you.
As a non-profit organization, WBEC-East relies on Desserts & More each year to raise matching funds required for our SBA grant. In fiscal year 2025, our goal is to raise matching funds for our U.S. Small Business Administration grant. We can’t do it alone – we need your ongoing commitment through volunteerism and financial support. Please consider contributing to us through Venmo @WBEC-East or making a donation online.
