Kristen Berman founded Philly Made Creative, a WBENC Certified WBE, in 2014 with her husband, Matt. She is a creative producer & designer, and has over 10 years of experience leading projects that span across advertising, branding, marketing, and media production.

Kristen holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Rowan University, and has elevated businesses in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, construction, food service, and education.

She is the host and producer of the podcast, Made To Be, and has interviewed extraordinary women at companies such as Campbell’s Soup, Ford, and Intel. Kristen and her work have been featured in Fox Business, Philly Mag, enLIGHTenment, and more.

Kristen encourages women, no matter their path in life, to achieve their dreams.

2019 Winner

Ashley Frederick is the third generation of Unity Printing, a full service commercial printing company located in Latrobe, PA that has been in business for forty years. After graduating from Mercersburg Academy, Ashley attended Stetson University in Florida. While majoring in Family Business at Stetson University, with a double minor in English and Business Management, Ashley was chosen to work with family business professors from around the globe on a Family Business Research Project.

After her time at Stetson, Ashley joined Unity Printing full-time. Ashley was an integral part of adding four new manufacturing services to Unity Printing in 2016, through five acquisitions, all occurring within five months. Currently, Ashley serves as the Sales Manager and focuses on fostering relationships through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), promoting Unity Printing’s women-owned business certification. Ashley currently resides in Latrobe with her fiancé Stephen and two dogs Dusty and Sadie. She enjoys serving on several non-profit boards across Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.
